Busy Weekend.

The Army, Navy, Air Force and Merchant Navy were well represented at the Grosvenor Club during the weekend. The lounge, which was attractively decorated with beautiful spring flowers, was patronized by many who found warmth and comfort therein. The muster of ceremonies was Mr. J. Harris. Voluntary helpers included Mesdames Bailey, Devery, Garratt, Harris, Misses K. Hughes and M. Maynard. Soldiers Entertained. A successful start was made on Saturday night to entertain soldiers in Wellington on leave by women of the Cambridge Terrace Congregational Church. The schoolroom had been placed at their

disposal from 6 p.m. till 11 p.m., and the men who attended spent an enjoyable time. They were provided with tea and coffee, hot sausage rolls, sandwiches, and scones, and during the evening games were held. This schoolroom should be a popular rendezvous on Saturday evenings when it becomes better known to men in uniform. Social Club Dance. The success of the initial dance held under the auspices of the Hutt Valley Road Services Club, which was held recently in Lower Hutt, augurs well for future events, witch it is hoped will be held periodically. There were 140 dancers present. Members of the three services were well represented and the programme comprised modern and old-time dances. Mr. E. CouU was the chairman. Catholic Services Club.
