FORCES GATHER FOR ATTACK
Allies In Pacific (By Telegraph. —Press Assn. —Copyright.) (Special Australian Correspondent.) (Received July 28, ,1.30 a.m.) SYDNEY. July 27. “The defensive phases in the Pacific warfare are passing, and forses are gathering for an offensive,” declared the New Zealand Prime Minister, Mr. Fraser, in Melbourne today. He said he believed this to be so in spite of the Japanese landing in Paupa, “which our forces seem to have in hand.” . A Pacific offensive would contribute as much as a victory anywhere to the defeat of the Axis Powers, he continued. Without a victory in the Pacific there could not be a total overthrow of the Nazi or Fascist forces. Mr. Fraser is discussing matters of supply and liaison in Melbourne, and he will attend a meeting of the Australian War Advisory Council in Canberra on Thursday.
