Ship Attacked By Enemy
A number of New Zealand air personnel have arrived safely at an Allied port after the ship in which they were travelling had been subjected to enemy attack. Announcing this last evening, the Minister of Defence. Mr. Jones, said that all New Zealand personnel involved were safe. The next-of-kin have been notified in every case. Personnel concerned were: Pilot Officer N. R- 8. Humphreys, Wellington; Pilot Officer J. R. R. Devereaux, Auckland: Pilot Officer R. A. Marshall. Auckland; Sergeants N. R. Buck, Otorohanga: R. H. Briekell, Auckland; J L Chandler, Auckland; D. G. Hannigan, Auckland: C. F. V. Hughes, Reefton: B. S. O’Halloran, Auckland; B. J. Ritchie, Auckland; N. C. Rollett, Matainata; K. F. Shaw, Invercargill; A. F. Tate, Auckland: C. E. B. Wood. Auckland: B. E. Young. Auckland.
