SOLDIER’S THANKS
Letter From Egypt The Wellington Provincial Patriotic Council is beginning to receive acknowledgments from overseas of parcels which have been forwarded to soldiers. Here is a letter from C. W. Taylor of the 19th Battalion, now serving in Egypt, written on September 22 to the secretary of the council: — "Just n few lines to express my sincere thanks and appreciation for the parcel received yesterday, bearing an impression of tlie stamp of your council. Yesterday ( Saturday I all members of this battalion, at present camped somewhere in the Western Desert, had distributed to them a parcel from one of tlie patriotic or similar organizations of New Zealand. "To say that these were very much appreciated is only putting it mildly. Enthusiasm of tlie recipients was most marked, and I am sure that could liie donors and senders have witnessed the scene as I saw it, they would have considered themselves well repaid for all their trouble and kind thoughts which prompted this action ot. theirs. In conclusion. I feel I must say that tlie contents of tlie parcels displayed sound judgment and much forethought on tlie part of those packiua them. Tiginking you once again for your very kind action and thought.”
