FEILDING, November 15.
A party of officers from the defence headquarters. Wellington, visited Feilding to inspect the facilities offering for a military camp. They were met by -the mayor, Mr. T. L. Seddon. A visit was made to Johnston Park and also to Victoria Park, and finally the party went to the racecourse, where Mr. E. G. Goodhehere, secretary of the Feilding Jockey Club, showed the visitors the club’s appointments.
Colonel Saunders expressed himself as being very much impressed with the military eamp facilities which Feilding offered and was particularly pleased with the racecourse. He said that the authorities were inspecting sites throughout the country and it was quite likely that a camp would be established in this district. The visitors afterward left for Palmerston North to inspect the facilities there.
