Helping Hands. TN STEAD of sewing in our sewing class at school we are knitting garments for refugees. I am knitting a little boy's juniper just now. A friend and I are' making a patchwork quilt which we hope will be useful to the Red Cross when we have finished it.— Puriri (?), New Plymouth. Bush Ramble. T HAD a marvellous time yesterday afternoon. My friend and I went up the hill and walked miles and miles through gorse, bracken and grass. We found native plants, trees and shrubs. About 3.30 we had some afternoon tea. We had taken Jasper, my cocker spaniel, and he was panting violently, He seemed very thirsty, but I was well prepared for this —I had taken a jar of water for him. You see, being fond of nature, I spend most of my time looking for insects, birds, birds’ nests, plants and trees. I found several nests with eggs.
