Voluntary societies concerned with the welfare of seamen are assisting Hie Minister of Labour and tlie Seamen's Welfare Board, which lias been set up to advise him on problems affecting the welfare of seamen. The societies have appointed a representative central consultative council to consider Hie problems involved and provide a channel of communication between voluntary organizations and the Minister of Labour.
