Island Bay Circle. Holds Annual Meeting The annual mecling of tin- IMami Bay circle of the Residential Nursery was belli ou Wednesday at the home of the president, Mrs. A. T. Wells. The secretary-treasurer, Miss It. Willshire, presented Hie annual report anil balance-sheet, which were more s;ltisl'.-telory. Mrs. Porter, who presided, cimgralulated all upon the re suit of the past year, which had been dilliciilt under war conditions. and praised Hie tine work accomplished b.i the circle since ils inception. Special mention was made of Mrs. Wells amt Miss Willshire, whose interest had never flagged. Their sell’-sacrilieiitg ami persistent efforts had been wonderfully sustained. They were re-eli’cted, ami Mrs. Seabrook-Mason and Mrs. Hayward accepted the positions of vice-presidents. Mrs. Wilkinson volunteered to act as assistant secretary. The chairman gave some details of the work, telling of line gratitude of some of those who had found Hie nursery such a boon in lime of sickness. ’file president entertained all present to afternoon lea. and presented the chairman and secretary with lovely Hural gifts.

Kalmulara Women's Institute. Mrs. McKeium presided at the November meeting of the Kahautnra Women's liislilule. Il was decided to give the usual Christmas party to members’ children again this year. Demonstrations on the making of pine needle baskets ami silk art work were given by Mesdames McKenna and Pope. The competitions consisted of games, cooking, best, blooms and animal toys for the institute Christmas tree, winners being Mesdames Pope and Pound.

Miss .loan Hickman, Wanganui, has arrived to begin her nursing training at the Wellington Hospital.
