EXTENSIVE NAZI RAIDS

London Main Target FIERCE DEFENSIVE BARRAGE

Casualties Not Large

LONDON, November 13

As is usual on moonlight nights German air raids over Britain last night were on a fairly extensive scale. The main attack again was on London, and offensives also developed against other parts of the country, including the Merseyside and the Midlands. In London a tierce barrage greeted the raiders. The bombing continued at intervals throughout the night, but nowhere was the casualty list large. The raids on the Merseyside and the Midlands were not on a heavy scale. Bombs were also dropped in the home counties and south-east England. Monday’s Raids.

LONDON, November 12.

London and the country generally had one of the quietest nights since the blitzkrieg began. By 9 p.m., stales an Air Ministry and Home Security Ministry communique, all raids had ceased, and up to 6.15 a.m. today no further enemy aircraft had been reported over the country. During yesterday afternoon and evening a few lone enemy aircraft, taking advantage of an overcast sky, dropped bombs in the London area and the Home Counties, and at several isolated points in other parts of England.

Though damage was done to a number of houses outside London and there were some casualties, the number of people killed was small. When darkness fell this small-scale attack was resumed, but only for a short time. During the period of this attack a few bombs were dropped in the London area, in south-eastern, in eastern counties, and in the south-west. The number of casualties was very small and the damage slight. A German communique claims that reprisals against London last night resulted in great fires.
