McMillan, who is also a member ot tin, city council, alleged a few days ago that the council had shelved completion of the Leith Valley highway, the new northern outlet from the city, and suggested that this was due to political A rejoinder was made today by the mayor. .Mr. A. 11. Allen continued, “states that Tn northern parts even though municipalities are opposed to the Government in political thought they did not let that binder their activity, but teamed in with the Government for their mutual benefit.’ In reply I would say that politics have never entered into the deliberations of the present council, with the exception of those occasions when they have been imported into it by Cr. McMillan. “Though he has been a member of the present council for two years and a half, Cr. McMillan has done practically nothing for it, and is the last man who should adversely comment on the doings of those who remain at their post in the council and do their best for the city.”
