The final day of the film golf outings sponsored by the 33 Club, was held on the Hutt Club’s links yesterday. The field of about 70 included four players from Australia, and several representatives from the South Island, as well as a large contingent from the North Island.

The principal event of the day was the "6-holes best medal net score for the Hoy Schureck Memorial Trophy, which was won by H. Andrews, an Australian, the runner-up being A. C. Ashford (Wanganui). , , Other results were:—Best net medal, morning, P. W. Maddock; runner-up, 11. Pearson. Best net medal, afternoon, R. Carnachan; runner-up, I. Bristed. Three bracket competitions held during the year were also decided yesterday. These were the Knockout Cup, the Mark Toomey trophy, and the Bob Shepard M emorial. The winner of the Knockout Cup was R. Tansley, with R. L. Grant runner-up. In the Mark Toomey competition, the winner was J. Trayes, and the runner-up C. Wedderspoon. A. Ben Fuller won the Bob Shepard Memorial trophy, the runner-up being A. M. Tartakover." The trophy for the best gross score outside Wellington was won 'by E. A. Tong. In the Warner Cup contest, Distributors beat Exhibitors.

The trophies presented by the 33 Club this season were one of the outstanding features of the presentation at the 33 Club rooms last night. In previous years the trophies were donated by various companies and individuals, and in addition large expense was entered into by the club itself in providing trophies, so that the total previously expended was not far short of £5O. The 33 Club this year decided to distribute inexpensive trophies known as “33 Club War Economy Trophies, 1910.’’ These trophies are of special interest, inasmuch that it was hard to realize from their fine appearance that they are really glorified jam tins. The jam tins were mounted on black enamelled bases, and were suitably inscribed on the front with gold and blue stickers. The stickers read “33 Club War Economy Trophy, 1940. Presented in lieu of usual trophy; trophy value donated to war effort.” In order to make rhe trophies individual, each one carries a separate sticker on the back, showing rhe competition and the winner’s name, 'i'be total cost of each trophy was less than 1/. The 33 Club is to be congratulated not only upon its successful golf season, of which yesterday was the seventh and final curing, but also upon its fine spirit in providing trophies of the nature described, aud donating a fairly large sum to the war fund.

Those responsible for the successful outings were Messrs. A. Ben Fuller (chairman), Mead Walworth (hon. secre-tary-treasurer), H. F. Pearson, S. S. liridgford. and R. L. Grant.
