DEMOCRATIC LABOUR

Nelson Branch Formed

(By Telegraph — Press Association.) NELSON, November 12.

The leader of the Democratic Labour Parly, Air. J. A. Lee. addressed a large audience in Nelson. A vote of thanks was carried endorsing I lie formation of a Nelson branch of the party. The speaker said that in his tight for exchange control lie had believed lie was lighting for New Zealand, whereas the .Minister of Finance possibly had been blind io the best interests of the country. Of public works be said that if a large portion of the concrete and steel had gone 'into making new factories they would have been better off. One could almost cry about the idle position of Ouekaka. There was nothing more irritating than good roads and no petrol. The Labour Government had started off magnificently, but had suddenly refused to handle the centre of all monopolies, the banking system, and had toppled. Mr. Lee made reference to the recent speeches of the Hon. P. C. Webb on the West Coast. He alleged that Air. Webb had said one thing on the west side of the tunnel but a different thing on the east side.
