The number of men engaged in repairing work on the Wanganui River road is now 35, but it is reported there is much still to be lone before the surface will be brought buck Io the condition it was in before the Hood of February. Part of the road can bo used for one-way fra flic only, and al those points it is being widened. The worst sections arc being renietnlled with shingle brought from Jerusalem, as the main supply can be carted from the riverbed only during the summer months.
