ALERT FOR ALLIED SURPRISE
German Embassy Statement (Received May 8, 11.55 p.m.) WASHINGTON, May 8. The German Embassy in a statement said Berlin is on the alert against an Allied surprise attack elsewhere titan the Balkans, to which the British fleet in the Mediterranean has tended to divert attention.
