HOUSING ON FARMS

Government’s Scheme Supported Dominion Special Service. WAIFUKURAU, May 8. Housing accommodation for married workers on farms was discussed at a meeting of farmers held in Waipukurau yesterday afternoon, when it was agreed that one of the greatest problems of the farmer today was the provision of suitable accommodation. A motion was carried unanimously supporting the rural housing scheme promoted by the Government, it being decided that the Hawke's Bay provincial executive of the Farmers’ Union be asked to support the scheme. It was also decided that the Housing Department be asked, through the union executive, if it wds not possible to extend the activities of the department to provide, some in small rural centres for farm workers who were not continually engaged on any one property.
