SMASH AND GRAB RAID

Auckland Jewellery Store WINDOW CLEARED OF CONTENTS (By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, May 8. A ' smash-and-grab raid was perpetrated tonight on one of the jewellery windows of Timewell and Company, Wyndham Street. A large plate glass window was broken by a piece of concrete about the size of a brick. The hole was made almost in the centre of the window, and glass display trays inside were also smashed. Practically all the contents of the window were stolen, so that ait that was left on display were a couple of dented clocks and the large missile used to smash the window. The quantity and value of the goods taken cannot be assessed tonight.
