FLYING FROM TOKIO TO NEW ZEALAND
Japanese Merchant (By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright.) SYDNEY, May 8. Mr. Y. Banno, a Japanese merchant who has flown from Tokio to Sydney, plans to fly to New Zealand in the Awarua tomorrow. Thus he will have travelled 12,000 miles from Tokio to Auckland in 11 days. Mr. Banno flew from Tokio to Bangkok in a Japanese airliner and thence, in irn Imperial Airways machine to Singapore, where lie connected with a Dutch airliner. He arrived in Sydney yesterday, after taking 21J hours from Batavia.
