WELLINGTON CORONER TO RETIRE
Mr. Janies Emslie, who has been coroner in Wellington for the past seven months, has resigned, and will leave shortly to live in Auckland. Mr. Emslie began his career as a law clerk in Oamaru, and after working there for some years went to Dunedin, where he qualified as a solicitor in 1897. For about four years and a half be served the firm of Adams Brothers, and was later with Mr. A. C. Hanlon. For about 25 years he practised in Timaru. A few years ago he became chairman of .the Mid-Can-terbury Mortgage Adjustment Commission, serving in that capacity till the commission finished its work.
