ORPHANS ENTERTAINED

Children from orphanages in Wellinggiven a holiday treat yesterday morning when they attended a special screening of tlie Paramount film, “The Star Maker,” at the St. Janies Theatre. The programme opened with a stage presentation by Bryan O’Brien, Lady Gay. Reg. Morgan and Erie Bell. After a community sing, Mr. O'Brien announced that it was intended to conduct, a quest for the best singers in Wellington orphanages. Recordings would be made and the best performers, as well as receiving special prizes, would be invited to broadcast. During tlie morning free ice-cream, chocolates and apples were distributed among the children.
