The inquiry was to have uegun last week, said the Minister, but it was postponed because -Mr. Ritchie bad to go to Auckland as chairman of the tribunal to interpret the wages clause in the tramway workers’ award. “If injustice has lieen done to the men it will be righted,” said Mr. Webb. "Likewise, if it is proved that there are men on the job who should not be there they will go.” Workers claimed that Htey had been grievously maligned by allegations ol: misconduct and theft, and it wtrs only fair that any charges of injustice to them should be fully investigated, Mr. Webb said.
