According to a law just reviewed by the Turkish Supreme Defence Council women as well as men are liable for military service. All citizens between the ages of 15 and 65 can be called up in the event of general or partial mobilization. No distinction is made between men and women, except to define the respective duties which will be allotted them. Women soldiers will be issued uniforms similar to those worn by Britain’s Auxiliary Territorial Service.
