Throughout: the bout Little Wtolf’s lively showmanship entertained the crowd, at times making the match a burlesque rather than a serious one. Little Wolf made a picturesque and colourful figure. He stripped off his filiery before joining battle. I Katan seemed to find it difficult to resist tangling his fingers in his opponent s bobbed scalplock; he roused the Redskin’s apparent, ire by stamping on Ins face, pulling his hair over his eyes, and pulling his hair. Little Wolf bounced, chattered, grunted and grimaced, at the. same time interspersing a good deal ot sound wrestling. But in the second round, aud on several subsequent occasions, the bout deteriorated into burlesque, with more posturing than matCr Katan took first fall. in the fourth round he dazed Little M olf with sharp elbow-jolts and flying-mares, the chief bellowing as each fresh indignity was inflicted. Finally Katan knocked him from his feet with a har<\ rap, picked him up bv the ankles, and stood him first on hif* head, then on Ins shoulders in a modification of a Japanese toe-hoIU. There were several comedy rntcrlmles in which Wie referee and the two matmeii featured in a three-sided contest. Little Wolf hauled his oipiponent and the oflicia dwvn among the rinssiders and there continued the bout—the referee havnK the worst of it. Later the referee had to resort to violence to break up a melee in th In r X S ' S ixth round Little Wolf let fly a flying tackle. Katan went to the mar. Little Wolf’s second tackle carrier! him bodily over Katan’s head as the latter ducked, aud Little Wolf Katan pounced ou him, but Little n Oi rolled him over, and stood up witli Katan’s legs trapped in a.n Indian deathlock. Katan struggled to sit up, to be flattened with a blow in the face. Little Wolf increased the leverage of his hold on Katan’s legs by toppling, baclcwaril again and again, till his victim submitted. Heferee and attendants hastened to disentangle the c-omlbatants. There were no further falls. Kittm Wolf established a second deathlock a ‘ te y the liell in the penultimate round, but the officials refused to let him take advantage of it.
