NO LESSENING OF ANXIETY

Preparation For Sudden Turn Of Events ALLIED FLEETS AT FULL STRENGTH LONDON, May 5. The hostile tone of the Italian Press and the presence of strong Allied squadrons at Alexandria have not lessened anxiety over the Mediterranean situation. Dispatches from Alexandria say that the fleets are now at full strength. Egypt is vigilant. The Defence Minister announced that Egypt was prepared to repulse an attack, from whatever quarter it might come. The German and Italian Press have adopted the same theme of the superiority of air fleets over the strongest of naval forces. The French Press says that precautionary measures have been taken in the Balkans, and that Turkey, Greece, and Egypt are preparing for a sudden turn of events.
