l Central Military District i Registrations for military service in i the central district for this month tip - to midnight on Saturday, totalled 117, , an increase of 25 since Thursday. “ Since recruiting for overseas service - began 5202 men have registered in the Wellington and Hutt Valley area. Of these 2477 have been passed lit for service. 356 have been declared temporarily unlit, 698 permanently unlit, and 2351 have been sent to camp. Tiie balance of lit men witii two children or less, excluding officers, available for sending to camp is 950. Mr. Wright, giving evidence for the employers, maintained that only a small portion of the workmen in the industry required to lie skilled, as it was possible to train men in a comparatively short time.
