WAIWHETU PROGRESSIVE ASSOCIATION
Flower And Vegetable Show
A general meeting of the W aiwhetu Progressive Association, combined with a Hower and vegetable show, was held in St. Paul’s Hall, White’s Bine East, recently. Mr. W. J. Dredge presided over a. good attendance. Only urgent business was attended to. There were 106 entries for the flower and vegetable show, a number considered very satisfactory for the associations initial show. The judges were Mr. W H. Wilson (vegetable section) and Mr. Hutt, superintendent of reserves to the Tx>wer Hutt Borough Council (flower section). Mr. Wilson outlined points to be noted in show vegetables and congratulated juembers on the variety and quality of the exhibits. Prizewinners are:—
Vegetables.—A. W. Davis. 2 firsts, 2 seconds" R. C. Horwell. I first, 2 seconds; E. Park. 2 firsts: A. S. Watson. 1 first; A. \V Tregurtlia, J first, 2 seconds; H. Ackerman. 1 second; L. R idler. 3 firsts, 1 second; L. G. Turner, 1 first; W. Lyall, 2 firsts, i highly commended; F. Feeney, 2'seconds; Wf.l. Dredge. t first: W. Rye, certificate of merit: W.
