Fat Sheep Tops Improve At Gisborne Sale Dominion Special Service. GISBORNE, May 6. The prices for the top lines of fat sheep offered at the Gisborne sale improved, though late rates were generally the rule for other sorts. A dragging sale resulted for an entry of 5500 stores. A good-sized entry of beef was forward, though many of the- animals were only of fair quality. Prices are:— ■Sheep: Ewes, tops, 16/- to 19/-, others 13/4 to 15/1, second-grade to 13/1; lambs, tops, 13/6 to 14/-, good 12/- to 13/-; outstanding ewe lambg to 22/-; wethers, fresh stores, 16/8 to 18/7, fat and forward 19/10 to 20/1; good empty owes. 9/10 to 10/2; good-sized, forward Southdown lamlbs, 11/2. ■Gattie: Best station cows, £6/6/- to £6/13/-; Jerseys, £4/16/-.
