Hutt Beat Wellington Easily
W. B. REILLY IN FORM
Hutt scored a sweeping victory over Wellington in an interclub match by lb games to five, with one game halved. Hutt won the match between the A teams at Hcretaunga by 84 games to <’>L and in the match between the B teams ou the Hutt course won by 10 games to two. Hutt won the Crawford Crescent contest, which is confined to the eight leading players of the A teams, by six games to the Wellington provincial champion, was at the top of his form for Hutt in outplaying A. D. S. Duncan by 3 and 2 Duncan took the first hole with a birdie 3 by chipping out from outside the green, but Reilly then settled down to go out in 35 to stand 2 up at the t' l ™; He notched a birdie 4 at the eighth (o3t> yards), and a birdie 2 a the short ninth, where he sank a 30-foot putt. Duncan took 38 for the out journey, and got one back with 4 to 5 at the tenth. They halved the next five holes in bogey figures, but. Reilly drew dormy 2 when the B ellington No. 1 sliced his drive oft _ the sixteenth tee out of bounds. A win in 4 to 5 at the seventeenth gave Reilly a win bv 3 and 1. He took 37 for the home journey, his card reading:—Out: 403-435542-35. In: 545533444-37. Duncan came home in 40, which gave him 78 for the round. . , . All the Hutt men were right on their game, and showed the -Wellington players how to play their own course. J. B. Parker J. W. Ward, and D. G.
