A practice fire alarm at a New Zealand Air Force station recen'tly had amusing results, and indicated that the crew of the engine associated their canteen with only one pastime. The fire was supposed to lie in the dry canteen, but the instructions to the brigade mentioned only “the canteen.” Officials waited at. the dry canteen to time the brigade, Which failed to .appear. Investigations showed that the firemen had instinctively made :i dash for the wet canteen, some distance away.
