Allies’ Intentions Speculated POSSIBLE NEW NAZI WAR BASES (By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright.) (Received A lay 4, 1.10 a.tn.) LONDON, May 3. Swedish sources report that German mechanized units are proceeding to Trondheim unimpeded. Norwegian guerrillas may still be active, but it is believed that organized resistance south of Trondheim has practically ceased. T'he Allied forces in the Stenkjaar area arc faced with the alternative of contesting the German advance, which now has the full benefit of strong land communications. or retiring farther north. The Swedish Press does not regard the Allied chances of holding the Stenkjaar sector as good, but other neutral opinion is that the Allied troops may be able to form a solid front and prevent further German progress. German sources expect the immediate construction of new air and submarine bases to operate against the British. Some Swedish quarters estimate that the German force in southern Norway is now 150,000.
