RETURNED SOLDIERS’ ASSOCIATION
Eastbourne Sub-Branch The annual meeting of the East-1 bourne sub-branch of the Returned Soldiers’ Association was held in the] Fire Brigade Hall on Thursday, April] 30. The chair was occupied by the] retiring president, Mr. A. J. Walling,,] till the election of the new presidentJ Mr. D. G? Wilson. | The annual report stated that the: membership was about 40 less than.] that of the previous year, the decrease] being caused to a large extent by dis-j organization through a number of! members being on military duty. The! finances, however, were in a sound.] position. Poppy Day and Rose Day appeals) z had been highly successful, and thanks were due to those women who came forward year after year and helped in this work. Reference was made to the services rendered by Mr. R. Hull, who did not seek re-election, and Mr. E. Marsden, who was leaving the district. Both had been hard workers in the interest of the diggers of this district since the inception of the sub-branch. They wore both unanimously elected life-members. The following officers were elected: President, Mr. D. G. Wilson; vice-pre-sident, Mr. A. J. 'Walling; bon. secretary, Mr. W. Wilson; bon. treasurer, Mr. L. Allott: executive committee, Messrs. C. St. John Keenan. H. Tucker, A. J. Hollis, B. C. Kirk. C. Logie, and J. H. McKay.
