A heavy increase of 45 per cent, in railway traffic revenue in Hastings last month, compared witli April last, year, is recorded. There was an all-round in crease in trailic, specially passenger trailfit, which was stimulated by tlie Centennial Exhibition. The bounteous fruit season was responsible for’a substantial increase in goods traliic. compared with the corresponding period of Inst year. There was also an exceptionally big outward traffic in live stock, particularly cattle and sheep.
