"You Nazty Spy" Satirizes German Regime
TIOLLYWOOD’S first film satirizing the Nazi regime is Columbia’s' “You Nazty’ Spy,” according to an overseas newspaper. Produced with some secrecy, it stars the Three Stooges as German war lords, called “Hailstone,.’ “Gallstone,” and “Pebble.”
Hitler’s mannerisms are imitated by “Hailstone,” whose speeches' are in German, and “Gallstone” wears a gorgeous uniform decorated with medals. To make the significance still more obvious, the iplot has munition makers aiding a trio of pajjerhangers fo overthrow the king of Moron.ica in a “beerhall putsch.” No sooner are they successful than they start persecuting, burning books and demanding territory.
After a revolution in which “Mata Herring” plays a part, the dictators flee by mistake to a lion’s den and are devoured.
