Sir John Harris

Sir John Harris, whose work for the abolition of slavery is well known throughout the world, died on Wednesday, aged GO. He was secretary of the Anti-Slavery and Aborigines Protection Society. Sir John Harris was strongly in favour of the formation of a jiermauent Slavery Commission of the League of Nations. The appointment of this Commission in 1933 coincideded with his receipt of a knighthood.
