Pending Red Cross Appeal The third conference of Bed Cross delegates from loc.-rl committees throughout the Wellington Province was held in the Bed Cross rooms, Wellington. this week. There were 50 delegates in attendance and they camo from as far as Masterton on one side and Otaki on the other. Sir James Elliott presided and Major Abel expltrinetl the general plan of campaign. Detailed arrangements were made to ensure the success of the Red Cross appeal shortly to be made under the auspices of the National Patriotic Fund Board. The meeting was enthusiastic, for it was felt that no stronger appeal could 'he made to the people of New Zealand than one which gives every man, woman and child an opportunity to do an active kindness to and assist sick and wounded soldiers.
