Ruthless Attack On Hospital Ship LONDON, April 30. The Berlin radio mentioned the Norwegian report of the bombing of the Norwegian hospital ship Brand IV, and claimed that the German airmen were instructed to adhere strictly to international law and never to attack hospitals or hospital ships under the protection of tlie Red Cross, provided they were marked. The medical superintendent of the Brand IV, when interviewed by the Norwegian telegraph agency, said' "The effect of the attack was appalling. Everybody on board was more or less seriously wounded by bomb fragments.” He affirmed that the Germans must have seen tlie large red crosses painted “all over the ship.”
