THEFT CHARGES
Two Men Sent To Jail “This man has a very bad list,” said Detective-Sergeant W. McLennan when Charles Patrick McAllister, labourer, aged 40, appeared before Mr. Stout, S.M., in tiie Magistrates’■ Court, ■ Wellington, yesterday, on charges of the theft of a suitcase and contents, valued at £-1/10/-, suitcase and contents valued at £-1, two blankets, valued at £l/10/-. and an overcoat., suit coat, and vest, valued at £l3. McAllister pleaded guilty to all charges ami was sentenced to three months’ imprisonment on each charge, the sentences to be cumulative. Lionel Albert Atkinson, barman-porter, aged 00, was sentenced to one month’s imprisonment on each of four charges of theft. Tiie charges were:-theft of three men's bicycles, valued at £2, £3/10/aml £5 respectively, and theft of two pairs of shoes, valued at £2/15/-. On n charge of the theft of a wrist watch, valued at. £3, tiie property of D. 11. 11. Corbin, Boruk Najmark was committed for trial. Mr. C. 11. Arndt appeared for Najmark, who pleaded not guilty. On a charge of the theft of £3 in money, Hie property of .1. C. Williamson Picture Corporation, Ltd., William Chandler, carpenter, aged 22, was remanded till next Wednesday. Archibald Crawford, steward and barman, aged 28, was remanded to appear in Christchurch tomorrow when he appeared on :i ‘.-barge of breaking and entering the ollice of Patrick Goulding. Christchurch, and committing theft.
