RUN OVER BY TRACTOR
Elderly Man Killed (By Telegraph—Press Association.) TIMARU, May 1. As a result, of being run over by a tractor, an elderly retired farmer, David James Young, residing in Colombo Street. Christchurch, died in hospital in Timaru today. Mr. Young was visiting his son-in-law. Mr. 11. Talbot, Rnngltira Valley. He went Io assist Mr. Talbot, who was pinned against a shed, when the tractor moved backward when started, al 1 ’ parently having been left in gear. Mr. Talbot got cleur and reached Hie gears ahead- of Mr. Young, who was leaning over the machine. Apparently the gear was'pul into forward instead of neutral, and Mr. Young was dragged over the machine passing over him. lbwas sent Io hospital and died early this morning.
