MONDAY’S WRESTLING
John Katan will wrestle Chief Little Wolf in the Town Hall, Wellington on Monday night. Katan succeeded in eluding the octopus clamp when he made Ins firs't appearance in Wellington this week, and on Monday he will have a chance to show whether he can also dodge the Indian dealhlock. The Indian deathlock, however, by no means comprises all Little aggressive repertoire; it is merely the coup de grace which he applies when he has'reduced his opponent to. a state in wliieli it iw likely to be effective. I'or the rest be makes expert use of wristloeks and scissors holds, and there is nothing amateur or halfhearted about his elbowjolts and tackles'. Since Little Wolf was last in New Zealand, he has been in Australia, where he proved a popular wrestler, and has also had a strenuous programme in the United States. He is fitter than ever, and both his displays in Auckland have been marked by thrilling wrestling. Katan’s victory against Blomfield this week has set the wrustling "fans” talking.; and there is little doubt: that the big Canadian will be one of the successes of the season.
A bright programme of preliminaries will begin at 8 o’clock.
