North Branch
PALMERSTON N., May 1. The annual meeting of the Palmerston North brunch of the New Zealand National Party, held in the rooms of the National Club, was presided over by the chairman. Mr. 11. G. -Mills. There was a representative attendance. The fifth annual report recorded the launching of 'the club during the year, whieli had already proved its value by providing comfortable headquarters not only for inembers of the branch but for visitors from other electorates and branches. Eleven meetings of the committee bad been held during’ the year, and the work was proceeding satisfactorily. The chairman paid a tribute to the work of the women’s committee, and gave an outline of the discussions at the recent divisional conference in Wellington.
A report presented by the chairman of the club committee, Mr, 11. Seifert, showed that the club had been well supported, and income had more than balanced expenditure. He stressed the fact that the part the club would play in fostering the spirit for which the National Party stood would depend on the efforts of individual members. The committee appointed for the ensuing year consists of Messrs. F. L. Cubitt, D. Fraser, H. G. Mills, JI. A. Seifert. G. Burns, C. G. Hayward, J. M. Gordon, J. A. Nash, M. 11. Oram. S. C. Raweliffe. L, G. Rieger, T. B. Worrall, H. L* Ilartog, G. IV. Mills, F. G. Opie. .1. E. Blade, C. Driver and AV. A. Kyle, Mesdames L. Bale and C. G. Hayward. The representative from the women's committee is Mrs. AV. F. Field and the coopted members Miss C. Warburton and Mrs. .1 IT. AVh.-te. At a subsequent meeting of the committee Mr. Mills was re-elected chairman.
