She is GOOft. in length b.p., 63ft. in breadth, and has a carrying capacity of 16,050 tons dw. on a draught of 29ft. din. The propelling machinery consists of au eight-cylinder double-acting Kocum-AI.A.N. Diesel engine developing 6000 e.h.p. at 130 r.p.m., and designed to give a speed 0f' 144 knots in loaded condition. After completing trials, which were of only a limited character owing to the risk of mines, the vessel was taken over by the Chilean Steamship Company on a 10 years’ tlme-eharter.
