THORNDON METHODIST SPORTS CLUB

The Thorndon Methodist Sports Club opened its second season of badminton and table tennis in the Thorndon School assembly hall on Saturday evening, when about 40 new and old members were present. Good wishes for the future were expressed by Rev. R. B. Gosnell, and Messrs. C. Purdey, A. McDonald and A. Holloway, and after Mr. C. Purdey played the first, shuttle the season was declared open. Later all present adjourned to the schoolroom, where supper was served. Officers elected for the year are: — Patron, Rev. R. B. Gosnell; president, Mr. C. Purdey; vice-presidents. Miss D. Worboys, Mrs'. C. Purdey, Messrs. Heath, Pillar and Joyce; club captain, Mr. J. Horne; secretary, Miss M. Mac Lean; treasurer, Mr. K. Gosnell.
