SOUTHERN RHODESIA’S WAR EFFORT
(British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, April 29. In the coining year Southern Rhodesia intends to contribute £1,500,000 to the cost of the war. This amount, will be required to cover all internal defence measures in lho colony. SALISBURY, April 29. The Bank of England has offered to buy the entire gold output of Southern Rhodesia. . Sent born Rhodesia's gold output in 1938 totalled 25.321 kilogrammes, worth about £0,750,000 at the current price of gold.
