FIRE IN NORWEGIAN TANKER
CHARLESTON (S. Carolina), April 29.
A tire bus been raging in the engineroom of the Norwegian tanker Willy, which is anchored in the harbour loaded with 8000 tons of aviation petrol consigned to Glasgow, Scotland. The crew of 28 have abandoned the ship. Firemen clothed in asbestos suits later boarded the smouldering Willy and expressed the opinion that watertilled compartments between the etirooni and the oil tanks would prevent an explosion.
