SHARP ENGAGEMENT
French And Germans On
West Front PARIS, April 29. French and German infantry suffered unspecified losses in a sharp en gagement westward of the Vosges, resulting from a German thrust. Heavy artillery preceded the German attack, which was easily repulsed. The French official evening communique stated that Ibe day was quiet on the whole.
