SECTION AS PRIZE IN RAFFLE
Patriotic Funds To Benefit Dominion Special Service. AIASTERTON, April 30. The donation of a section in College Street, Masterton, of just over quarter of an acre by Air. W. Nops for patriotic purposes has been announced. The section is to be raffled with tickets at 2/6 each, and one half of the proceeds will go to the Natiohal Patriotic Fund and the other half to the Provincial Patriotic Fund. The mayor, Air. Jordan, said today that Air. Nops had given him (he choice of all unsold sections in College Street, and he had made a selection. He wished to thank Mr. Nops for bis generosity, which was another example of his public-spirited citizenship.

Over £7OOO Raised By Wanganui District WANGANUI, April 30. The Wanganui .district has. now raised over £7OOO for the Fighting Services’ Welfare Fund. Amounts recent ly credited to various, centres are: Marton £1241/5/4, Waverley £9lB/9/7, Tailpipe £4Bl/6/10, Iluuterville £349/3/1, and Bulls £260/15/6. The amount raised by AVarigiiuui city and nearby rural areas is £3805/5/4.
