MONDAY’S WRESTLING

John Katan, the Canadian wrestler who was responsible for the first big sensation of the 1940 mat year when he beat ‘’Lofty” Blomfield on Monday night, will again be in action in the Town Hall, Wellington, next Monday night, when he will meet Chief Little Wolf. Katan has shown that he is the complete wrestler, and, with his dash of ruggedness, should quickly become an outstanding, popular wrestler in New Zealand. Little Wolf s activities when he was in Wellington before are memorable, and, since he has shown in his matches in Auckland this season that his form is better than that of the past, there is the certainty of. a really rousing display for his- part. Little Wolf still makes exceedingly useful play with the Indian deathlock, his match-winning specialty, and he has plenty of other holds with which to worry his opponent. Little Wolf has a ring personality all of his own, and when he goes into action, there is lively action. The preliminaries will begin at 8 o’clock, and will include one of the “semiprofessional” bouts which are becoming increasingly popular.
