Island Bay Sub-Centre
The report submitted at the annual meeting of the Island Bay S-uh-Centre of the New Zealand Red Cross Society stated that the membership of the branch stands at 104. At present 32 members are attending first aid classes, and in the past the following passes have been obtained :—First Aid, 31; Home Nursing, 13; Hygiene and Sanitation, 13. Recently 28 pupils sat for the following examinations :— Elementary hygiene and sanitation, 20; intermediate hygiene and sanitation, 8, A womens V.A..D. detachment lias been formed, with Mrs. Booth anti Mrs. Power as s-iiperiutendent and assistant, superintendent respectively. The strength of the detachment is 24. A men’s section has been formed by Mr. E. Briiidie, commandant, and Mr. Booth, assistant commandant. The following officers were elected: — President, Mrs. C. E. Proctor; vice-presi-dents. Mesdan-.es Toop. Hall, Mcllroy, Dunford Messrs. Colley and Collins; chairman, Mr. D. P. Howlett: secretary and treasurer. Mr. E. Brindle; committee. Mesiiames Power. Cocker. Collins, Trengrove, Brown. Kay, Mcllroy, W ilkineon. Pellew. Helgeson, Messrs. Proctor, Ham. 'Wilkinson, Scoullar. Hildreth, Oholderof-t. Booth.
