MAORI BATTALION’S BEHAVIOUR
Praise By Head Of Police District Dominion Special Service. PALMERSTON N„ April 29. “The behaviour of the members of the Maori Battalion during their training period in Palmerston North has been excellent,” said Inspector 11. Scott, head of the Pabnerston North police district, today. . The Maoris had set a. very good example, he said. During the whole period of their training in the city only two mernlbers of the battalion had appeared in the Court, and he thought that was a splendid record for a large body o. men undergoing training in a military camp. Inspector Scott said he had expressed his appreciation of the good behaviour of the men to both Major-General J. B. Duigan, Chief of the General Staff, and Lieutenant-Colonel G. Dittmer, commander of the battalion.
