FRENCH REPLY TO DUCE
Expected To Be Made Today ANGLO-FRENCH TIES STRENGTHENED By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. PARIS, March 27. The Cabinet today studied Signor Mussolini’s speech and heard an outline of a broadcast to be made by the Prime Minister on Wednesday, which, it is expected, will be in the nature of a reply to the Duce. The Cabinet congratulated President Lebrun on his having visibly strengthened Anglo-French ties of friendship during his visit to London.
New decrees were decided upon relating to frontier defence, increasing the navy effectives, and opening credits for industrial expansion.
The Foreign Minister, M. Bonnet. made a lengthy statement regarding the London conversations. The Premier. M. Daladier, urged President Lebrun to stand for reelection. assuring him that it was the desire of the whole country. M. Blum’s paper, “Le Populaire,” declares. however, that M.
