GERMANY WARNS POLAND

Exercise Of Caution Advised

SEQUEL TO RECENT DEMONSTRATIONS By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. (Received March 28, 7.30 p.m.) .LONDON, March 28. Semi-official quarters in Berlin draw attention to the recent antiGerman demonstrations by the Polish Western League at Bromberg, and allege that attacks were made against women and children. Official circles continue to deny that there is any move against Danzig and hint that Poland would be well advised to be cautious in her dealings with Germany. It is admitted in Poland that patriotic meetings have been held concerning the Polish Corridor, but maltreatment of the German minority is denied. It is reliably stated that Poland has informed Germany that conversations regarding the future status of Danzig are out of the question. Claim Unjustified. In authoritative quarters nothing is known of the serious incident at Bromberg complained of in Berlin. Minor incidents involving Poles and Germans have been frequent, but the language of the Berlin statement is considered to be unjustified. Meanwhile the Polish Government is isuing an internal loan of £45,000,000 to increase the air force and air defences. Tlie issue includes bonds valued at 16/- payable in instalments and redeemable in live years. These are designed to attract the savings of the poorest, who will be subjected to intense propaganda for the purpose. Yesterday the widow of Marshal Pilsudski. Poland’s national hero, in a message to women’s military organizations said : “The women of Poland will fight shoulder to shoulder with their brothers on the battlefield.” It is announced that the Polish Foreign Minister, Colonel Beck, is to arrive in London on April 3 as a guest of the Government. Conversations will begin on April 4.
